England’s last Euro 2012 qualifier of 2010 is upon us, with opinions hardening against Fabio Capello’s reign as England manager.  The press reaction to Capello seems to be mirroring the tenure of Graham Taylor, with this summer’s World Cup being the most disappointing performance from an England team at a major championships since Euro ’92, where nineteen Englishmen and Tony Dorigo went out with a whimper rather than a bang.  Fortunately for Fabio, his face is yet to be placed upon a root vegetable. Aaron Hunt - Is not English. Remains not English.

The English papers have all picked up on the story that Fabio Capello has made overtures towards Werder Bremen forward Aaron Hunt to play for England. Hunt, German-born with an English mother, is a versatile attacker with five goals in eleven games in Bundesliga this season. To his credit, he has ruled out any switch, eager to nail down a place in the German squad. However, my question would be, why do they want him? Read the rest of this entry »
